Ringsheim Castle

In the 13th century, Ringsheim Castle was owned by the Lords of Ringsheim, who also possessed the surrounding village, a church, and a monastic house in Schweinheim. The complex was first documented in 1249 when it was destroyed. In 1455, due to debt, the castle passed to Johann Hurth von Schoeneck, the Hereditary Marshal of Jülich. After the Schoeneck line died out in 1615, the castle changed hands multiple times until it came into the possession of Wennemar von Schaaffhausen in 1990.

Ringsheim Castle is situated east of the Euskirchen district of Schweinheim in the Euskirchen district, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, at an elevation of approximately 206 m above sea level.
