Sotterbach Castle, also known as a fortified house or 'Kasteel', is located in the eponymous district of the municipality of Reichshof in the Oberbergischer Kreis, North Rhine-Westphalia.

History+

Sotterbach was first documented in 1141 as the residence of Olfiz von Sittinberg, a vassal of the Count of Berg. In 1583, Sotterbach was one of six 'Sattelgüter' (fiefs) in the Eckenhagen parish owned by the families von Bieberstein, von Karthaus, and von Lixfeld. In the 17th century, the estate passed to the noble Ley family.
