The Castle can be visited

In Königsbach-Stein in the Enz district, Baden-Württemberg, is Burg Stein, also known as Schloss Stein. The Storchenturm (Stork Tower) can still be visited today.

History+

The first documented mentions of a castle at this site date back to 1240, when a Heinrich von Stein was named. The origins of the complex date back to around 900, built by German noble knights at the foot of the Eichelberg. In 1350, the Margraves of Baden expanded the town of Stein into a fortress with four gates, surrounded by an earthen wall and ditch. Later, two additional strongholds were added within this outer ring.
