In Breyell is Weiher-Kastell Castle, a moated castle whose origins date back to the early 14th century. The three-winged complex continues to shape the region's landscape.

History+

The castle was first documented in 1311. Its initial known owners belonged to the noble family of Krickenbeck. During the Thirty Years' War, the complex suffered damage, prompting the then-owners, the von Kamphausen family, to construct a new manor house. This two-story building, dated 1634, remains standing today.
