Burg Zweiffel, once a noble residence, is in the Strunde valley, not far from Bergisch Gladbach. As a former moated castle, it is today an example of medieval architecture in the region.

History+

The first documented mention of Burg Zweiffel dates back to 1251, when it was owned by the "von Strune" family. In the 15th and 16th centuries, the noble family of Zweiffel took possession of the complex. Four generations of this family, known as "Zweiffel zu Strunden," shaped the castle's history. Among them was Gerhard von Zweiffel, born around 1460.
