The remains of Jagstberg Castle, also known as Jagstburg, were once a hilltop castle in the Hohenlohe district.

History+

The first documented mention of Jagstberg Castle dates back to 1228. It was built by the Lords of Jagstberg, who maintained family ties with the Lords of Langenburg. It is presumed that they might have been a branch of the Lords of Mulfingen, who later also became known as Ebersberg near Backnang. In 1275, Albert von Ebersberg enfeoffed the castle to the Bishop of Würzburg, who in turn sub-enfeoffed a part to the Lords of Hohenlohe-Brauneck. Due to a lack of water, the castle was largely demolished in 1782.
