Kippekausen Castle
Kippekausen Castle was a motte-and-bailey castle that once stood in the present-day residential area of Kippekausen in Bergisch Gladbach. Only parts of the foundation walls and an inner moat remain.
History+
The fortified settlement likely originated at the end of the 9th century. Its first documented mention dates back to the year 1404. Among its known owners was Heinrich von Merheim. After its decline in the 16th century, the remaining structures were subsequently used by the nearby Kippekausen estate.

Kippekausen Castle is located in the Kippekausen district of Bergisch Gladbach, in the Rheinisch-Bergischer Kreis in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It stands at an elevation of approximately 74 meters above sea level.
