In the Limperich district of Bonn are the remains of Limperich Castle, once a fortified complex. What today appears to be a larger residential house was once the ancestral seat of a noble family.

History+

The first documented mention of Limperich Castle dates back to 1285, when it served as the property of a noble family and the residence of the Lords of Limperich. In 1688, the estate changed hands, being sold to Frank Nesselrode, who transformed it into a baroque manor. The complex underwent various renovations, alterations, relocations, and demolitions, which shaped its current appearance.

The remains of Limperich Castle are situated in the Limperich district of the Beuel borough in Bonn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The site is located at an elevation of approximately 58 m above sea level.
