Randeck Castle
The Randeck ruin is a vanished hilltop castle at 790 m above sea level in the Ochsenwang district, a part of the municipality of Bissingen an der Teck in the Esslingen district in Baden-Württemberg.
The former castle, located 1200 meters south of the village of Hepsisau, directly on the Albtrauf escarpment, was built in the 13th century by Heinrich von Randegge, remained in the possession of the Lords of Randeck, and was destroyed after 1500. Traces of the moat are still visible. The Randeckers were a noble family originating from Klettgau and Schaffhausen. →Radegg Ruin, Randegg Castle or Randenburg.
Randeck Castle is the namesake of the Randecker Maar, located approximately one kilometer west of the castle site.
