The castle remains of Ringethal, a former moated castle, are situated in the Saxon landscape near Mittweida. Only a few traces of the former defensive structure remain today.
History+
The origins of the moated castle Ringethal, also known as Inselteich or Schneckenteich, likely date back to the 13th or 14th century. It was located on an island in a pond and featured a rounded-rectangular core structure measuring approximately 15 by 20 meters. Stone masonry is still visible at the northeast corner of this core, with the core's plateau situated about two meters above the water level.

The remains of Ringethal Castle are located in Mittweida-Ringethal in the district of Mittelsachsen, Saxony, Germany. The site is situated at an elevation of approximately 219 meters above sea level.
