Ufhoven Castle
The Ufhoven Castle remains are a ruin located in the district of Ufhoven. It was once part of a fortification system of the city of Langensalza.
History+
Ufhoven Castle was once one of three castles that served to defend Langensalza. The Lords of Salza, originally based at Dryburg, acquired the Ufhoufe. In 1212, Dryburg was besieged during a conflict between Emperor Otto IV and the Thuringian Landgrave Hermann I. After the surrender, Gunther von Salza was allowed to keep Ufhoven Castle and additionally received the villages of Döllstädt and Ufhoven.

The ruin is situated in Ufhoven, a district of the town of Bad Langensalza in the Unstrut-Hainich district of Thuringia, Germany.
On site+
Today, only a few wall remnants of Ufhoven Castle remain. These vestiges can be visited by tourists.
