The remains of Urhausen Castle, a former hilltop castle, are situated in the area of the deserted village of Urhausen near Schöntal-Bieringen. Although only a few traces are visible today, the remnants are present in the Hohenlohe region.
History+
The first mention of Urhausen Castle dates to 1228, when the Lords of Boxberg were named as owners. Between 1308 and 1505, the Lords of Urhausen were the castle lords. As early as 1434, after several changes of ownership, the complex was referred to as a 'Burgstall', indicating an advanced state of decay. At this point, the complex passed to the Lords of Aschhausen.

The castle remains are located at an elevation of approximately 226 meters above sea level in the municipality of Schöntal-Bieringen in the Hohenlohe district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
