History+

The construction of Aichelberg Castle was undertaken by the Lords of Aichelberg between 1150 and 1200. In 1334, the complex passed into the possession of the Counts of Württemberg. An event was the plundering and destruction of the castle during the Peasants' War in 1525. Following this incident, the ruin served as a quarry, with parts of the building fabric being removed by 1596.
