The castle ruin of Argenschwang, also known as Rosenburg, is a hilltop castle in the municipality of Argenschwang in the district of Bad Kreuznach in Rhineland-Palatinate.

History+

The architectural style of Argenschwang Castle suggests its erection in the first half of the 14th century. The first confirmed mention of the castle dates to June 19, 1332, when it was named in connection with the endowment of perpetual masses in St. Martin's Chapel. At that time, it was owned by Count Johann II of Sponheim-Kreuznach, who enfeoffed it to his illegitimate son Simon of Argenschwang. In 1416, the Lords of Leyen were enfeoffed with the castle.
