The Bärenburg ruin is a castle ruin west of Ramsbach, a district of the city of Oppenau, in the Ortenaukreis in Baden-Württemberg. It is located on a steeply sloping mountain spur on the western valley edge of the Rench river at an elevation of around 450 meters above sea level.
The castle was built in the 12th century by the Counts of Freiburg and first mentioned in 1307. Other owners included the Lords of Bärenbach and the Bishops of Strasbourg. After 1470, the castle fell into disrepair. Of the former castle complex, only 2-meter-high wall remnants remain. The keep had a base area of 7.5 by 7.5 meters and a wall thickness of 1.7 to 2.2 meters.
