The Bebenburg castle ruin, also known as Bemburg, is a spur castle ruin near Rot am See in the Schwäbisch Hall district of Baden-Württemberg. It stands above the confluence of the Blaubach and Brettach rivers.

History+

The origins of Bebenburg date back to around 1140, when it was built by the Knights of Bebenburg and first mentioned in documents. After the noble free lords of Bebenburg and burgraves, the noble family of Enslingen took over the property from 1440. It is believed that the castle was destroyed around 1449 during the War of the Cities.
