Bubenstein Castle
The Bubenstein ruin, also called Neu-Falkenstein, is the ruin of a spur castle at 560 m above sea level on a rock spur on the north side of the Höllental valley, about 500 meters west of Alt-Falkenstein Castle above the Falkensteig district of the municipality of Buchenbach in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district in Baden-Württemberg.
The spur castle was built by Walter von Falkenstein in the 13th century, and in 1266 the Lords of Falkenstein are mentioned as owners. In 1328, the Lords of Staufen are named as owners. In the 19th century, part of the castle rock was blasted for a railway line, and after 1960, the castle was demolished due to dilapidation.

The keep of the castle had a base area of 10 by 10 meters, the neck ditch a depth of 5 meters and a width of 8 meters. Remains of walls and the neck ditch of the former castle complex are still preserved.
