Dabernburg Castle
The Daberburg, also known as Heideturm, is located in the village of Alt Daber north of Wittstock in the district of Ostprignitz-Ruppin in Brandenburg, on the road to Röbel.

Of the medieval complex, only the keep remains today. Medieval building fabric might also be present in the building attached to the tower.
According to a document from 1284, negotiations between the Principality of Werle and Brandenburg took place "up de Daber". This suggests that a castle or at least a fortified place already existed at that time.
In connection with the conflicts with Mecklenburg, the city of Wittstock built the Daberburg as an outwork between 1438 and 1475 to secure the crossing over the Daber stream. The castle consisted of a tower and a bailey.
Having fallen into disrepair over time, the complex was restored at the beginning of the 19th century according to the ideas of that era. During this process, the tower was heightened with non-original brick formats. It also received a conical spire. From 1843, the forest administration was located in the castle. Today, the castle is privately owned.
