The remains of the Castle can be visited

The Dalberg Castle Ruin stands above the Gräfenbach Valley in Rhineland-Palatinate. Around 1150, Godebold von Weyersbach initiated the construction of this castle complex in an exposed location, securing ownership rights through a fief from the Diocese of Speyer. The original founding family died out in the 14th century. At that time, Johann Kämmerer von Worms acquired possession of the castle and added the suffix "called von Dalberg" to his name. With the advancement of weaponry, the high-lying castle lost its strategic value.
