Diersburg Castle

The origins of Diersburg Castle date back to the late 12th century, when it was built by the Lords of Diersburg. An early mention appears in 1197, when it was referred to as “Stein zu Tiersperc” in the possession of Walter von Tiersperc. In 1259, the name “Diersberg” emerged. The complex underwent expansions in the 13th century and evolved into a joint heritage castle in the 14th century. During the Thirty Years' War, it suffered destruction, followed by further destruction by French troops in 1668.
