Dreimühlen Castle

The history of Dreimühlen Castle begins in 1218 with the mention of an Oda v. Drimollen. In 1282, the castle was sold for 60 Cologne Marks to Gerhard IV of Blankenheim. The property was subsequently returned as a fief to the original sellers. In 1343, the Blankenheims transferred Haus Dreimühlen as a fief to Bernhard V (Lippe), who bequeathed it to his wife Richarda as a dower. In 1400, it passed to Werner von Dreymüllen, also as a Blankenheim fief. In 1431, Count Gerhard of Blankenheim transferred the castle to his wife Margareta, Countess of Mors.
