Frundeck Castle
The Frundeck ruin is a castle ruin of unknown aristocratic affiliation southwest of Börstingen in the municipality of Horb am Neckar in the district of Freudenstadt in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
About 3 km southwest of Börstingen and about 650 m east of the A81 motorway lies the Frundeckhof. From there, follow the wide hiking trail in the forest to the east for 500 m. When the path turns southwest, the Frundeck ruin is located above on the mountain.
The former castle was enfeoffed to a noble family from Switzerland in 1386 after the Battle of Sempach. The Frundeck ruin consists of a high remaining wall, a cellar vault that somehow looks modern, and in front of it in the ground is an arch stone with letters, a broken coat of arms, and the number 1335.
