Großlangheim Castle is the ruin of a medieval moated castle in Großlangheim (Am Schlosshof 18) in the district of Kitzingen in Bavaria.

History+

In the 14th century, the castle was first mentioned in documents as property of the Counts of Castell. They sold it to Count Jörg zu Hammelburg. However, this purchase was later reversed. The main house was destroyed during the German Peasants' War and subsequently not rebuilt. The half-destroyed castle was given to Ulrich von Knöringen in 1553/1554 during the Second Margrave War. In 1574, however, the Counts of Castell were again in possession of the castle. Already in the 16th century, the castle was used as a quarry.
