The Grubenhagen castle ruin, a lowland castle, is located in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

History+

The origins of Grubenhagen Castle date back to the 13th century, when it was established by the von Grube family. Until the 15th century, the complex underwent various expansions and alterations. Later, the Lords of Maltzan took over the castle. North of the fortification, an estate was built, which in the 19th century took over the role of the manorial seat from the old castle.
