Gýmeš Castle
Gýmeš Castle Ruin in western Slovakia was constructed in 1253. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 481 meters above sea level.
History+
The castle was granted to the Forgách family, who maintained ownership of the estate until the beginning of the 20th century. It was affected by Ottoman troops in 1576 and 1663. Gábor Bethlen's insurgent army also inflicted damage on the complex in 1618.

Gýmeš Castle is located in the village of Jelenec in the Nitriansky kraj district, a region belonging to the western part of Slovakia.
