South of Bissingen an der Teck lies the Hahnenkamm Castle Ruin, a former hilltop castle. Its history is linked to the Dukes of Teck and later the Counts of Württemberg.

History+

The construction of Hahnenkamm Castle is dated between 1250 and 1280 and attributed to the Dukes of Teck. It was part of a network of satellite castles, whose task was to secure the main castle on the Teck. In 1297, a Gumpold von Hahnenkamm is mentioned in a document, while the castle itself is first named in a sales document in 1303.
