The Hellmat Castle Ruin, also known as Heimberg Castle, is a hilltop castle situated on the Schloßbuckel of the Heimberg. This complex, once the seat of the Lords of Heimberg, is located in the Hohenlohe region of Baden-Württemberg.

History+

The construction of the castle is presumed to have taken place in the 13th century. It served as the ancestral seat for the Lords of Heimberg, who are documented since 1253. The castle was sold by its original owners, with parts of it passing to the House of Hohenlohe through the widow of Heinrich von Böckingen. It is believed that the castle was destroyed after the year 1344.
