The high medieval spur castle Heriboldisburg is located on a mountain spur above the Jagst valley in Herbolzheim, a district of Neudenau.

History+

The construction of Heriboldisburg is presumed to have taken place in the 13th century. Below the main castle, an estate was built in the 16th century, serving as an economic courtyard or outer bailey, featuring an archway from 1564. Another building east of the castle, now reconstructed, is believed to have once been used as a sheepfold; an archway there is dated 1594. It is assumed that the castle was destroyed during the Thirty Years' War.
