Kleinsteinbach Castle
The castle ruin of Kleinsteinbach is on the Schösslebuckel in Pfinztal-Kleinsteinbach. This former hilltop castle is now a freely accessible monument.
The origins of Kleinsteinbach Castle date back to around 1100 when it was built. However, it met its destruction in the 14th century. It is believed that the Lords of Remchingen once owned this complex. The castle was designed as a tower castle and featured a keep or residential tower with a base area of 10.5 by 10.5 meters. For protection, a steep slope towards the valley and three ramparts securing the mountain spur served the complex.
The Kleinsteinbach castle ruin is located at an elevation of approximately 182 meters above sea level in the Kleinsteinbach district of the municipality of Pfinztal, situated in the Karlsruhe district in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
