Košuta Castle

Even though "Košuta grad" is mentioned in 1334. for the first time(Cosucsak), it is probably built in 13th century according to its shape of Romanic walls, bricks and shape under the land. The fact is that in 13 th century there was very developed suburb with church. The owners at that time were Makarijević family, Čupors of Moslavina and Bakaczi de Erdody, later. Turks conquered an destroyed Košuta grad in 16th Century. After Turks it had never been repaired. There is only one piece of Wall left. Walls had oval shape 23m of diameter long and it is surrounded by pit and dam. On one side there was suburb surrounded by pits. There was also a drawbridge by which they went to burg. The wall consists of rocks, but there are bricks too when you walk around across location. In the neighborhood you can find Franciscan monastery which is located in Podgradska ditch.
