The Landshut Castle Ruin is located in Bernkastel-Kues in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. As a hilltop castle, it offers an insight into medieval architecture and a panoramic view over the Moselle landscape.

History+

The origins of the site date back to the 4th century, when a late Roman fort secured supply lines along the Moselle. The current castle was built at the end of the 13th century on the foundations of this Roman defensive structure by the Archbishop Heinrich von Finstingen of Trier.
