The Gschlössl is of historical significance for the village of Leithaprodersdorf. The moated castle of Leithaprodersdorf stood there, where a court hearing took place in 1232, to which the first documentary mention of Leithaprodersdorf refers. The moated castle was built in the 13th century on the ruins of the Roman watchtower to secure the Leitha crossing. Bohemian troops already destroyed the fortification in 1273.
The rampart and ditch system of the Gschlössl is still clearly recognizable today.
