The former hill castle Lewenhain Castle Ruin, also known as Raubschloss Ringethal, is situated on a rock spur above the Zschopau river in Saxony.

History+

The origins of the complex likely date back to the 13th century. Its first documented mention appears in 1221, when it was referred to as the manor of Vlricus de Ringenhagen. The regional seat of power, originally located on the Arnsberg, was relocated to this spur castle in 1315. The core of the castle, which had an irregular shape of approximately 15 by 22 meters, was adorned with artificial ruins in 1804. The site was designated a protected archaeological monument in 1962.
