Lipowiec Castle
Lipowiec Castle in Babice was built in ending of XIII century as foundation of Cracow bishop Jan Muskata, replacing older wooden stronghold and wooden castle built by bishop Jan Prandota in half of XIII century. In XVII centennial the castle was damaged by fire in 1629, in 1655 was conquered by Swedish troops which burnt the castle during withdrawing. In further years bishopric used the castle as the prison for clerics. The castle run into a ruin after passing to Austrian authorities and after fire in 1800. In years 1961-1975 the restoration works took place in the castle.
