The remains of the castle can be visited

The castle was probably built in the 13th century on behalf of the Peggauer family. Through inheritance, the fortress, which was enfeoffed to Göss Abbey, later fell to the Counts of Pfannberg, then to the Cillier, and finally to the Montforter.
