The remains of the Castle can be visited

Neu-Waxenegg Castle (lower castle) was probably built around the year 1300. Together with Waxenegg (upper castle), it formed a double castle.

In 1299, Duke Albrecht pledged the castle to Ulrich von Walsee. During the Walsee Feud, Hans von Stubenberg captured the castle in 1412 on behalf of Duke Ernst the Iron.
