The castle ruin of Neuenfels, a former noble castle, is situated on a mountain spur in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald region, near Müllheim-Britzingen.

History+

The origins of Neuenfels Castle presumably date back to the early 14th century, when it was built around 1300 by the Lords of Neuenfels. The first documented mention of the complex dates back to 1343. The castle served the Lords of Neuenfels, who held various offices in the region, primarily as a residence and not as a military fortress. From 1540 onwards, the castle began to decay and became a ruin.
