The castle ruin Neufels is the ruin of a spur castle on a wide spur above the Kupfer at the edge of Neufels, a present-day hamlet of the city of Neuenstein in the Hohenlohekreis (Baden-Württemberg).
The castle was mentioned in 1287 as Nuwenfels and was the ancestral seat of the Lords of Neuenstein. After parts of the castle came into the possession of other noble families through heiresses, a castle peace treaty was concluded in 1361. Between 1369 and 1378, Mainz bought parts of the castle from the co-heirs, some of whom were members of the Schleglerbund. In 1395, a campaign by Count Eberhard the Mild of Württemberg against Neufels failed. In 1441, due to the participation of individual co-heirs in a 1439 raid on Haller merchants, the castle was besieged and destroyed by the Hallers, its moat filled in, and the keep undermined and toppled.
The castle ruin still shows parts of the curtain wall and the stump of the keep with a diameter of 6.5 meters.
