In the municipality of Kleblach-Lind in Carinthia, Austria, the castle ruin of Oberlind, a historic fortress, is situated at an elevation of approximately 775 meters above sea level.

History+

Early mentions of properties in Lind can be found in a Brixen donation document between 1065 and 1077. The Lords of Lind, documented as vassals of the Ortenburg from 1141 to 1452, resided in the upper castle. An explicit documentary mention of Oberlind Castle occurred at the end of 1252, when Count Albert III pledged the "castrum Lint" to Elector Philipp. From 1304, Lind came into the possession of the County of Görz.
