Obertrixen Castle

The remains of the Castle can be visited

Obertrixen Castle was first mentioned in a document in 895 and was a gift from Emperor Arnulf to the husband of Hemma of Gurk.

From the Diocese of Gurk, the castle passed to the Sponheim dukes around 1100, among others, and became Habsburg in the 14th century.
