The Otterswang Castle Ruin is on a mountain spur above the Schussen Valley. This former spur castle, located near Bad Schussenried-Otterswang.
History+
The origins of Otterswang Castle likely date back to the 11th century when it was constructed by the Lords of Otterswang. The first mention of the complex can be found around the year 1083. The castle changed hands multiple times, including the Lords of Gundelfingen, the Schenken von Winterstetten, and the Lords of Emerkingen. By the 19th century, the castle had fallen into disrepair.

Today, visitors can explore the remains of the castle ruin. Parts of the curtain wall, foundations of the former tower, and the moat have been preserved.
