Pfarrköpfchen Castle
Pfarrköpfchen Castle is the ruin of a hilltop castle on the "Pfarrköpfchen" on the eastern edge of the Soonwald near Stromberg in the Hunsrück in the district of Bad Kreuznach.
Pfarrköpfchen Castle is presumably the "old Stromburg". All documented mentions from the 11th and 12th centuries refer to this complex. Around 1200, the castle was abandoned and the new Stromburg was built as its successor. The castle was finally destroyed in the 19th century by limestone quarrying.

According to archaeological excavations and preserved foundation walls, it must have been a very extensive castle complex for its time. Remains of a Romanesque four-pillar double chapel have been found. The mosaic floor of the magnificent chapel is now in the "Stromberg Local History Museum".
