The remains of the Castle can be visited

The castle seems to have been first documented in 1166. At that time, Konrad Burggraf of Nuremberg sold the castle to the Bishop of Bamberg. His vassal, Meginhalm von Prägrad, thereby became a Bamberg ministerialis.
