The remains of the castle can be visited

Around 1120, Melk Abbey owned a vineyard in Rihpotenbach; there was no mention of a castle yet. Most likely, the castle was built at the end of the 13th or the beginning of the 14th century. Due to its proximity to Neulengbach, the Lords of Raipoltenbach were probably in a vassal relationship with them.
