The castle ruin of Reurieth, on the edge of the village of Reurieth, is a medieval complex in Thuringia. The remains, located near the church, are now a destination for history enthusiasts.
History+
The castle was first documented in 1171, when the Lords of Reurieth were named as its owners. The complex passed into the possession of the Henneberg family. The castle was destroyed during the Peasants' War. Following this destruction, it was rebuilt by the Lords of Heldburg. The castle fell into disrepair from the 19th century onwards and has since been a ruin.

The castle ruin of Reurieth is located in the municipality of Reurieth in the district of Hildburghausen, in the federal state of Thuringia, Germany. It is situated at an elevation of approximately 352 meters above sea level.

The north tower and parts of the original curtain wall are still preserved.
