The castle ruin of Stolzeneck, a former hilltop castle, is situated above the Neckar river near Eberbach in Baden-Württemberg. Its history dates back to the 13th century.

The origins of Stolzeneck Castle are presumed to be around the year 1200, when it was built as an imperial castle. The name was first documented in 1268. In 1284, the castle came into the possession of Count Palatine Ludwig II and was subsequently granted as a Palatine fief to various noble families. After 1610, with the extinction of the Barons of Frauenberg, Stolzeneck reverted to the Electorate of the Palatinate and was abandoned. A report from 1611 described the complex as dilapidated, leading the court chamber to approve its demolition. The castle ruin fell into oblivion and was only rediscovered in the 1960s.
