The late medieval Sulzburg castle ruin is situated above the Lauter Valley near Unterlenningen.

History+

Documentary mentions of Sulzburg begin in the 14th century. Initially, it was owned by the Lords of Neidlingen. Around 1395, the castle became a Württemberg fief, granted to a branch of the Lords of Speth. During the Thirty Years' War, the complex suffered destruction by imperial troops but was subsequently restored. After the extinction of the Speth family, Sulzburg passed as a fief to Philipp Ludwig von Cannstatt in 1650.
