The Teutleben Castle Ruin is a former moated castle in Thuringia, whose remains can be visited today. It is located in the municipality of Eßleben-Teutleben.
History+
The first documented mention of the village of Teutleben dates back to the year 876. The castle itself was the ancestral seat of the Lords of Teutleben, a family that first appeared as a ministerial family in 1140.

The Teutleben Castle Ruin is located in the municipality of Eßleben-Teutleben in the Sömmerda district of Thuringia, Germany. It lies at an elevation of approximately 184 m above sea level, southwest of the local church, near the confluence of the Rheinbach and Rohrbach streams.

Visitors can explore the preserved remains of the former moated castle, including parts of a round tower. The ruin is accessible to the public.
