The remains of the castle can be visited

Trennstein, the former Treunstein Castle, was first mentioned in a document in 1117. It is presumed that a wooden castle stood on this site previously. However, with Rudolf and Konrad von Kindberg von Treunstein, the Mürz lineage died out in 1190.
