The Turmberg Castle Ruin, the remains of a hilltop castle, stands on a ridge near Aichelberg in Baden-Württemberg.
History+
The construction of Turmberg Castle took place around 1200, initiated by the Lords of Aichelberg. In 1334, the complex passed into the possession of the Counts of Württemberg. The castle fell into disrepair and is now owned by the state of Baden-Württemberg.

The Turmberg ruin is located at approximately 592 meters above sea level, southeast of Aichelberg in the Göppingen district, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It sits on the Turmberg, part of the Swabian Jura.

Visitors can explore the remains of the castle ruin today. From the complex, remnants of walls and ditches, as well as minor parts of the core masonry, are still visible. The castle site, encircled by a moated ditch, is freely accessible.
